The website of Paul M Fullard - Independent Game Developer
I'm an Independent Game Developer, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Game Art and Design, and I've been doing game development for a little over 4 years now (as of April 26, 2016). Some time after I graduated, I started to learn more skills in all areas of game development on my own; which includes game design, game art, game programming, game audio design, and game testing. Ever since I first started doing game development, I've been continuing to learn more about game development as I go. I'm currently working on my own, but I'm open to the idea of working with a team in the future. As far as gaming goes, I've been playing video games for about 26 years now (as of April 26, 2016).
I first started playing video games when I was 4 or 5 years old; and since then, I've been playing video games in a variety of genres. Probably most of them over the years; and I think that benefits me as a game developer. My passion for video games is what ultimately lead me to decide that I wanted to become a Video Game Designer; which is what I decided I wanted to do right before the time that I started high school. In addition to video games, I'm also passionate about martial arts; which is why I have an extensive martial arts background. Both video games and martial arts are a big part of my life.
I've been doing martial arts since I was 14 years old. I started taking Tae Kwon Do classes right before I started high school, and I continued taking Tae Kwon Do classes for 4 years and earned a first degree black belt. After that, I learned some fighting techniques from 7 other fighting styles and how to use 8 different martial arts weapons from 34 martial arts training DVDs that I ordered online. The 7 other fighting styles that I learned fighting techniques from are Ninjutsu, Wing Chun, Jeet Kune Do, Jujitsu, Wrestling, Judo, and Capoeira. The 8 different martial arts weapons that I learned how to use are nunchucks (which are my favorite weapons), three sectional staffs, staffs, escrimas (which are basically shorter versions of staffs), swords, sais, knives, and shurikens (throwing stars).
In addition to game development and martial arts experience, I also have experience doing computer and network security, graphic design, and web development. One thing that I like about being a video game developer is that it allows me to use all of this work experience in one career.
